It so happened that I bought a bracelet from a jeweler and got it packed very nicely in a box.
After reaching home I kept it properly, happy and excited that I will be wearing it the next day to my friend’s anniversary party.
When I wore the bracelet next day I was all smile to see its beauty, but to my horror I noticed a diamond was missing. I quickly rushed to the jeweler and showed him the bracelet with missing diamond.
He said it happens and probably diamond was not set properly while setting and so it fell. Further, to my surprise, he asked me to pay $20 to reset the diamond.
But I straight away refused to pay single buck as it was not my fault. After all why should I have paid for jeweler's mistake.
He pointed finger on me by saying that I didn't took proper care while wearing due to which diamond fell. Then I showed him the purchase receipt and said its been just one day and how can a diamond fall in just one day and that too in the pack itself. So, he finally agreed and repaired the bracelet without charging money.
That day I learnt that a proper inspection is must while buying any jewelry.
